The 2nd Caissa Kansai Scholastic Chess Tournament is on!

On 30 November 2025, Caissa Osaka Chess Club, together with Abroad International School (AIS) Osaka as host, and 40 players and their supporting parents and teachers from 10 different schools, with thankful endorsement from the Japan Chess Federation, started a new chapter in the Japan chess scene: the first scholastic chess tournament.
Now a year later, on 29 November 2026, the second edition will take place!
AIS Osaka will host the 2nd Caissa Kansai Scholastic Chess Tournament. Like last year, this chess tournament is open to all students in Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary, Junior High and High School in the Kansai area and beyond.
Students play competitive chess and aim for individual and school prizes, but above all, play and have fun, learn and feel the thrill, pride and team spirit of representing your school with your schoolmates.
