Chessaka 3rd Friday of the Month Opening Night
At "Chessaka", our newly opened venue at Esaka Station in Suita City, we now hold regular chess events. Blitz, Rapid, Standard, Open or Youth events, FIDE and/or National Rated as well as casual and social chess events are, or will all be taking place at this unique chess hub in bustling Osaka.

In the category of casual and social chess, every third Friday in the month our doors open to chess enthusiasts of all levels to play a few games. Friday 18 September was our opening night, and on this celebratory occasion fingerfood and drinks were offered to go hand in hand with an evening of over the board social chess.
It was a great evening with a diverse range of players. Caissa Osaka youth talent Edward played alongside chess veterans, including JCF Director Shinoda-san and Takayasu-san and Tabe-san from En Passant Osaka Chess Club.
We had, Miguel, a visiting former Youth Champion from The Netherlands stepping in, together with several players who had previously only played online; and they played remarkably well! It would be very nice if these and such players would gradually join the Osaka and Japan chess scene regularly.
