Caissa Osaka Chess Plans - Autumn 2026

The next few months are going to be busy at Caissa Osaka! We’re building a simple, consistent chess calendar so that there is always something to look forward to - whether you want to play competitively, casually, or simply spend an evening with other chess players.

And there’s an exciting change: most of our upcoming events will take place at our brand-new chess center, Chessaka, in Esaka (Suita City)!

With the exception of the HJIS Yokohama Scholastic Tournament and the Wine Cup in Kashiwara, all tournaments and regular club events listed below will be held at Chessaka.

Sat, September 12 — Chessaka Youth Cup (CYC)

A fun and competitive tournament for players aged 6–18, open to everyone.

Fri, September 18 | 17:00–21:00 - Casual Club Night

📍 Chessaka, Esaka

No registration required. Just come and play!

💴 ¥1,000 cash on the day

Blitz, Rapid, Standard - or whatever chess variant you feel like playing

🚪 Come and go whenever you like

👥 Space for up to 22 players

A relaxed evening for anyone who simply wants to enjoy some chess.

Our first Kansai Classic Masters is coming! To be published on our homepage soon. 5 rounds of 30min + 30sec / move standard nationally rated chess.

We’ll be bringing chess to the Sakishima Children EXPO again! Meet us at the ATC!

NOVEMBER

Sun, November 15 - HJIS Yokohama 1st Kanto Open Scholastic Chess Tournament

📍 Horizon Japan International School, Yokohama

We’re looking forward to welcoming young players to our scholastic tournament at Horizon Japan International School in Yokohama.

The tournament will feature:

7 rounds — all players play all rounds

⏱️ 15 minutes per player, no increment

🎒 Players are asked to wear their school uniform or PE uniform

🏆 Prize Giving around 16:15–16:30

Parents and supporters can enter the playing hall briefly at the beginning of each round to take photos, after which the hall will be reserved for players and arbiters.

We’re intentionally keeping the calendar easy to remember:

2nd Saturday → Chessaka Youth Cup Youth Rapid • Ages 6–18

3rd Friday → Casual Club Night Drop in • Play anything • No registration

4th weekend → Kansai Classic Masters 🏆

Chess happening almost every week - and you don’t need to constantly check the calendar to know when your favorite type of event is coming.
